CFN welcomes the Chancellor’s announcement that the Government will not implement the cap on tax relief for charitable donations announced in the 2012 Budget in March. Community foundations would have been disproportionately affected by the cap as they rely so heavily on major donations from individuals and families to fund a huge number of community groups.  CFN's Chair, Matthew Bowcock, says:

“This is the best possible news and is the result of a great deal of work by many individuals throughout the charitable sector. We congratulate the Government on its willingness to listen.”
